How to Digitally Prepare for a Physical Move

• First up – Google Business Profile. Change the address, edit any opening hours or other contact info. Do the same for any other major network profiles such as Bing Places, Yahoo Local or sites like TripAdvisor.

• Edit your address on your website! Be sure to audit for PDFs with maps or locations specified. Update any direction-sharing links and any embedded maps.

• Check your social media bios or any historic content for out-of-date contact info, and change the address pin.

• Email signatures, get the whole team to make the change in one fell swoop to avoid any confusion from conflicting info.

• Contact any blogs or other sites that have referred traffic to your business.

• Update directories such as the Yellow or White Pages, Business.com etc.

• Make a ‘grand opening’ or ‘big move’ style blog post and share that across your social platforms and post on your website homepage to be sure to get the word out.

• Send a direct email to your most relevant database to avoid anyone showing up in the wrong place.
